Robin Hood Film Set Visit

A couple of weeks ago my friend Harry dragged me along to the film set of the new Robin Hood film due for release in 2010.

Directed by Ridley Scott this film portrays the story of an archer fighting against the Norman invaders who becomes the legend known as Robin Hood, played by Russell Crowe.

The film is being partly filmed in Lower Bourne, the same location for the opening scene of Gladiator featuring the battle with the Germanians.

Whilst at the film set I took a few photographs of the early stages of it’s build.

To keep up to date on the status of the film set, head over to Harry’s Blog, where he aims to post regular updates on his visits to Lower Bourne.

  1. My son is 21 and finishing his apprenticeship in electrical engineering, he wants to get into film production particularly set build and design/special effects. We live in Brixham Devon, but I would like him to visit a working film set to get a real idea of what’s involved and how it all works.
Any ideas on where he could go, or who he might contact.
Many thanks for your help or suggestions you may have.

    Kind regards,

    1. Hi Neal,

Unfortunately I have no idea about the people behind the set production.

However, if you head over to Fordoing.co.uk and contact Harry he may be of more help on this and point you in the right direction.

Sorry I can’t be of more help than this :(.
